Far Away From Home

Separated from their families, fleeing terror and violence in their home countries, the children and teens in a shelter in Tijuana await restlessly for their pending futures. Seeking asylum in the United States is a strenuous, uncertain process, and life in the shelter is often overcrowded and lonely. This documentary follows the lives of these adolescents as they develop friendships, learn their rights in a new country, and remember their past lives now that they are so Far Away from Home.
