The Path

1940: Rolf has fled his hometown Berlin for the Nazis, together with his father Ludwig. He was able to only take his lively dog and a signed book by Erich Kästner with him. Now father and son are stuck in the South of France. Their goal is to travel to New York, where Rolf’s mother has already been waiting for them too long. But the only road to freedom is along a steep path across the Pyrenees. On the border with Spain they meet their guide: Nuria, a girl, only slightly older than Rolf. When Rolf’s father gets caught along the way, Rolf and Nuria are suddenly on their own. City boy Rolf and country girl Nuria have to undertake a dangerous journey into the unknown, passing across the Pyrenees to Foix. A trip which will teach them to trust and learn from each other. In the end they will become friends for life.
