14-year-old aspiring musician Shabu lives in a notorious neighborhood in Rotterdam, Netherlands. De Peperklip is a colorful and loving residential area where everyone knows and supports each other. Shabu needs that support since he has an obstacle to overcome this summer. While she was on vacation in Suriname, Shabu crashed his grandmother's car joyriding, thereby angering the most important woman in his life. Now, instead of working on his music career, he'll have to pay for the damages done.

Shabu's charisma and energy are so captivating, you'll you want to watch him forever. Through his eyes, we view this community as vibrant, exuberant, exciting and fun. A low-stakes situation allows the audience to just hang out with Shabu for a summer and have a blast!
