Director Sam Feder returns to the transgender focus of his ubiquitous 2020 Netflix hit documentary “Disclosure,” following ACLU lawyer Chase Strangio all the way to the United States Supreme Court as he argues to overturn Tennessee’s bigoted attempt to ban gender-affirming care for trans youth.
This actively unfolding story of resistance follows ACLU lawyer Chase Strangio—the first out trans person to argue a case (LW v Skrmetti) before the Supreme Court—as he fights the 2023 Tennessee law banning gender-affirming medical care for transgender youth. A supporting cast of veteran journalists and activists, such as Gina Chua, Jelani Cobb, Lydia Polgreen, and Laverne Cox help dismantle the logic and impact of anti-trans disinformation in mainstream media. This consequential decision, expected in June 2025, will determine the future of legal bodily autonomy for contraception and reproductive healthcare.
