Mijo is hiding in a forest near his village at the end of the second World War. He cannot return to his house because of a choice he made in the past. Through various scenes from his hard life, covering a period of 20 years, presented in a non-linear, elliptical structure, the film explores the circumstances that may lead someone to fall into the trap of extremism. Based on the novel by Damir Karakaš, the film delves into the darker sides of the history of the Balkans, still relevant today.
