Bogi, a talented opera student, earns extra money babysitting for her cousin — whose marriage is crumbling. On the day of her final exam, she makes a mistake while caring for the children. Terrified, she keeps it from their parents. As the day unfolds, her anxiety narrows her perception: small details grow monstrous, she becomes convinced the child is dying, and her panic morphs into self-punishment.

By casting his own children and using his home as one of the main locations, the director has created a very personal film, which seeks out the tension in the consequences of small, everyday decisions. With a mixture of direct documentarian techniques and the narrativity of feature films, it empathetically reaches out to every situation and type of person depicted, and can be instructive for those who are just considering having children, and for those who are already in the thick of it.
