Anna, a 30-year-old neurologist, never received love from her mother, so she seeks it from others. She would like to find a stable foundation in her relationships, but in reality, she is merely repeating her mother’s manipulative behaviour. When one day she witnesses true love between a terminally ill hospital patient and his partner, she begins to feel a strange attraction to the dying man. After Eva Nová (CinEast 2016), Marko Škop brings another incisive psychological study that delves into pathologically damaged, irreparably toxic family dynamics. For Love is a chamber piece that at times reaches such a degree of intensity that it borders on psychological horror. An incredibly compact, intimate, and meticulously directed drama that relies on riveting performances by Jana Kovalčiková and Ingrid Timková, who play daughter and mother.
