Our CINEMA CONNEX film series has gone virtual! Join us for Woman on Fire and a live post-screening Q&A, featuring the subject of the film, Brooke Guinan, along with the Deputy Director of the Pride Center of Staten Island, Dr. Lisa Sloan.

Woman on Fire is the award-winning documentary following Brooke Guinan, the first openly transgender firefighter in New York City. For Brooke, fighting fires runs in her blood: both her father and grandfather served in the FDNY. But as a transgender woman, she has faced obstacles on her path to service. Transitioning from male to female in an overwhelmingly macho profession proves a challenge for her coworkers and family, while her boyfriend reckons with the impact of Brooke’s new public profile.

This film is being presented in partnership with the Pride Center of Staten Island.

Your digital ticket allows you to stream the film for free any time on May 30. Then, at 8pm, join us for our live Q&A. Participate with any questions of your own through our virtual platform.
