Following the loss of his mother, newly-arrived Egyptian immigrant, Nabil, and trans drag mother, Malibu, find solace in their blossoming friendship. As Malibu teaches Nabil the ways of drag and to design clothes and sew (his mother’s profession) and Nabil helps Malibu's effort to save her queer bar from "renoviction," they realize that their efforts to cling to the past are holding them back from manifesting the legacy their loved ones would have wanted. As Nabil comes into his own queer identity, he realizes that he not only needs to sew his mother’s dress, but that he needs to become the fierce and powerful…..QUEEN TUT.
