This film explores the power of imagination and resilience in the face of adversity. Earl, our protagonist, relies on a hearing aid, but it's his vibrant imagination that truly defines him. Faced with limitations, he reimagines himself as a musician, cowboy, conductor, and astronaut—roles society told him were out of reach.

Earl's unique ability to "feel" music, rather than just hear it, challenges us to rethink how we experience art. His story is a celebration of finding joy in life by embracing our individual strengths and perceiving the world in new ways.

Director Biography

Sam Von Hagen is an emerging filmmaker with a background in cybersecurity and a passion for the intersection of music, sound, and visual storytelling. Despite only holding a minor in film, Sam made a significant impact with his debut film, "An Orchestral Journey Through Space and Time," a one-man project that won both Best Picture and Best Editing at Stevenson University’s annual film festival. The film was a deeply personal exploration of Sam's love for cinema and the complex emotions tied to abandoning that passion. These accolades opened doors for Sam to join the school's prestigious senior capstone class, where he spent all year working on his sophomore project, "Listen With Your Eyes."

In Sam's work, there is a distinctive emphasis on the symbiotic relationship between music and sound, creating films that are both captivating and thought-provoking. Sam's approach often blurs the lines between senses, producing pieces that are deeply rooted in core human emotions and experiences. Thrilled to have fully embraced the world of filmmaking, Sam continues to explore and push the boundaries of audiovisual storytelling.
