Director Statement

Mi In Orbit: Received is an introduction to a story depicting the positivity that can come from inclusion and being willing to learn about each other, through the lens of an alien girl invested in human culture arriving on earth and interfacing with a queer friend group.

Director Biography - Riley A. Heath

Riley Heath is a 20 year old transmasculine autistic student of animation and fine arts. He is double majoring in Animation and Gender & Women's Studies at University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and expects to graduate in Spring of 2026. He has been passionate about animation from a young age and is grateful for the opportunity to start getting his animated work off the ground. His personal style is strongly influenced by a wide variety of interests, from independent artists to pieces of media that motivate him to build a similar portfolio of original work.
