Director Biography - R.E.D.

R.E.D. was born during a time when hip hop music was first breaking ground and pop music was rapidly changing. Her biggest idol and musical inspiration, Michael Jackson, was at the top of the charts while she was a kid growing up in Springfield, Massachusetts. As a young Afro-Latina, it was at the tender age of 8 that R.E.D. fell in love with hip hop and pop music genres and realized she wanted to spend the rest of her life making music. Singer/actress Aaliyah was another one of the film artist's musical influences and the inspiration from which the acronyms R.E.D. are derived. After Aaliyah's tragic passing in 2001, R.E.D. decided to move to New York City to pursue her dream of being a music producer. It was her talent as an MC, however, that gave her the opportunity to perform on Joe Jacksons Hip Hop Bootcamp a pilot reality show geared for network television. Though the pilot was never picked up, R.E.D made it to the finals and received great encouragement from the celebrity judging panel, including Joe Jackson, Kurtis Blow, and Marly Marl who gave her a perfect score of 10 for her rap performance.

R.E.D. currently resides in New York City with her partner and two children, and has become a producing sensation online and has earned a huge following on YouTube where she showcases her music production and videography. Her music and videos have been played over 1.5 Million times on YouTube. And, her instrumentals have been featured on season 2 & 3 of Bravo network's The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Don't Be Tardy For The Wedding, and VH1's Single Ladies.. R.E.D.'s music has also been featured on BET, MTV, Spike, Style Network, A&E, Logo, and more.
