Director Biography - Kamal Browne

Kamal is a Documentary Filmmaker from Maryland. He received his BFA in Photography from SCAD in 2016 and recently earned an MFA in Film & TV directing at the same university. Storytelling hasalways been a form of expression for Kamal and he uses art mediums, like photography and film, to share the stories of others.

Director Statement

In March 2015, while searching the internet for an Australian Cattle Dog breeder, I found Terre's website informing me that she had puppies ready for new homes. She was 65 back then and had just begun her dialysis treatments. I ended up adopting one of her 7-month-old puppies and named him Rocky. Years went on, and I would occasionally visit Terre and her animals, even taking photos of her on her farm. After many visits, I’ve learned about Terre’s hardships of managing a horse farm alone while battling kidney failure. Terre’s story means a lot to me because her perseverance and kindness have greatly impacted me, and I’m honored to

make a documentary about her life.
