HorseSpirit Arts Gallery, founded in 2013 as the fulfillment of a lifelong dream of owner and curator, Robin Holliday.
“I wanted the gallery to be a place of refuge, a sanctuary from the outside world.
My hope is that people find art in the gallery that speaks to them… means something to them…
and then take it home to their sanctuary.”
Robin designed HorseSpirit Arts Gallery to reflect her beliefs. In hopes of allowing people the opportunity to remember the goodness and beauty of life, she only carries “uplifting art” and selects local artists who are not only talented, but also kind souls.
“I believe that by connecting with the goodness in life, we can find the best instantiation
of ourselves… to become the people we always hoped we would be… and offer whatever strength and light
we have within ourselves to help others find their way.”
Our Story/Our Resilience
HorseSpirit Arts Gallery opened as a small, one-room gallery where Robin exhibited her own artwork and that of a few other local artists. In 2015, she moved HorseSpirit Arts Gallery to Main Street in Old Ellicott City, MD. On Main Street, the gallery grew to represent over 40 local artists. After suffering significant losses in two devastating floods in 2016 and 2018, Robin made the heartbreaking decision to leave Old Ellicott City.
In November 2018, she reopened HorseSpirit Arts Gallery at Historic Savage Mill, in Savage, MD where she now represents over 45 local artists in a beautiful, large, open space. The eclectic art collection includes paintings, sculpture, photography, glass, mosaics, jewelry, ceramics, woodworking, and fiber and wearable art. In this new location, HorseSpirit Arts Gallery also offers a wide variety of art classes, taught by the gallery’s artists.
