Director Statement

This film became a reality because of one person - Beth Hinde. It's her story and characters along with her financial generosity that made this possible. I was honored to be asked to help make it happen.

Working on Charcoal Skies reminded me of being bullied as a teen, the challenges of being a single mother like my two sisters and how just a simple gesture or conversation can dramatically change another person's life.

Directing other people's stories can be a challenge. But I embrace the artistic journey of creative collaboration with fellow artists. There's nothing like it.
