Immature yet well meaning father Wayne Stobierski (David Sullivan) loses custody of his son Tyler (Cooper J. Friedman) to his ex-wife Deidra due to his drinking and bad parenting. So he plans one last epic trip with Tyler and his best friend Chuck (Bill Heck) from his small town in Wisconsin to big city Milwaukee to go to a baseball game. They unexpectedly land on the doorstep of Wayne’s estranged sister, Alicia (Kristen Johnston), and their misguided and life changing adventure continues.

The Assassination of Richard Nixon director Niels Mueller sophomore feature is a comedic, heartfelt, at times darkly funny exploration of a father-son relationship in a road trip dramedy that shows the shortcomings of the Mid-West, addiction, and the small glories people seek to be happy. Executive Produced by two-time Academy Award winner Alexander Payne, Small Town Wisconsin played at multiple festivals throughout the world, picking up numerous awards along the way. A standout performance by David Sullivan (of cult sci-fi Primer) is rounded out by an accomplished supporting cast you won’t want to miss, including Bill Heck (I’m Your Women, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs) and two-time Emmy winner Kristen Johnston (Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, 3rd Rock From the Sun). – Marisusan Trout
