The visual tells a story of a young girl “coming into her own.” An animated version of Stella (Steve’s daughter) envisions a world that is visibly changing around her as she goes through an enchanted forest. From rainfall to sunrise, the forest begins to bloom and Stella witnesses her very first rainbow in the sky.

I entrusted my five-year-old daughter Stella to direct the video and create the cover art for the song as this was her birthday present. We spent a lot of time watching YouTube and Korean animated videos during the pandemic that we owe a lot of our inspiration to that content keeping us balanced. We wanted the song and animated video to share this narrative of growth and self-discovery during an uncertain time, as an animated Stella navigated her way through stormy, rainy terrain and then, ultimately, encounters sunshine and rainbows. The imagery portrayed in the animation was intended to match the emotions of a little girl going through ups and downs and finding light in the darkness.
