Can you say ‘I love you’ to your parents, siblings, or friends? What comes easily to some is a challenge for many men. Director Duncan Cowles has always struggled to express his emotions, and he is not alone. From a young age, boys are taught to be strong, not to cry, and to suppress their feelings. But silence comes with consequences: in the UK, suicide is the leading cause of death for men under 50. Cowles wants to break the taboo—starting with himself. In search of men who will talk openly about mental health, his film becomes more personal than he ever expected.
