Give as a gift
Produced by New Hampshire nonprofit Articine, our mission is to bridge the fields of arts and medicine, and "Dottie" exemplifies this by offering a poignant exploration of dementia and empathy. Dottie is available as a CME-approved professional development engagement or/and a standalone learning experience.
“Dottie” is not just a film, but a carefully crafted professional development tool aimed at healthcare professionals. With a story created by international award-winning artist, C. Robin Marcotte, "Dottie" offers a unique opportunity for healthcare professionals to delve into the intricate complexities of dementia and its profound effects on both patients and caregivers. By weaving together meticulously researched storytelling and visually captivating scenes, "Dottie" provides insight into the lived experience of dementia while celebrating the inherent dignity and personhood of those affected by it.
Along with director Jeff Stern, Articine assembled a world-class production team including institutions such as Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory and collaboration with the Budapest Scoring Orchestra. Moreover, with an editor having worked on projects for Netflix and Amazon Prime, and an Emmy-nominated Sound Designer, we are confident that “Dottie” will make a significant impact. We believe this film has the potential to spark meaningful discussions and foster greater empathy and understanding among healthcare professionals and the wider community.
Dottie has received Best Narrative Short from the University Film & Video Association and an Arts for Innovation Honorable Mention from The National Organization for Health!
