An undeniable star of the flamenco world, dancer and choreographer Rocío Molina has won the hearts of devoted flamenco enthusiasts and inspired a new generation of audiences with her passionate and innovative style. Fusing traditional flamenco with modern dance styles and improvisation, Molina’s avant-garde, extravagant and powerfully raw choreographies have mesmerised audiences worldwide.
In Impulso, we go behind the scenes for an intimate portrait of this groundbreaking artist as she travels the world performing her impulsos – improvisations that characterise her unique style. Having performed in venues ranging from prisons to modern art museums, this film follows Molina’s journey as she prepares for her biggest challenge yet: the creation of a new show at Chaillot – National Theatre of Dance in Paris.
Impulso is an enthralling glimpse into the preparation for this new live art piece; a performance that is both an exploration of dance and music, and a celebration of flamenco in all its classical and contemporary beauty.
"Ms. Molina is one of the greatest flamenco dancers I have seen, but to say that is not enough." The New York Times
"At once lyrical, raunchy and impeccably danced, Molina's fiercely provocative work is unforgettable." Observer
