Tensions arise when a British film crew begins to shoot a film in Jaffa about the 1948-49 War of Independence. At the same time, three orphaned children from the West Bank are smuggled into Israel, arriving at the doorstep of George and Rita Habib’s house nearby. As Israeli Arabs, George is afraid that hiding them will endanger Rita and himself, while Rita believes the arrival of these children could give meaning to her life. A gripping tale of love, courage and the ghosts of the past.

Join us on Friday, April 23 at 4:00 PM, when SFSU Professor Eran Kaplan discusses what happened in the mixed city of Jaffa before, during, and after the War of Independence.
