As a child, Dr. Amit Singh (Ram Gopal Bajaj) survived the British partition of India. Since then, he has been running forward his whole life, running from the horrors of his past--his family murdered by Muslims. Now, with the onset of dementia, Amit wants to return to his childhood home and confront the memories he has been trying to forget. But before his journey begins, he encounters Salim (Pankaj Tripathi), a Muslim auto-rickshaw driver whose wife was killed by Hindu rioters. When Amit asks to be driven home, Salim cannot imagine where the journey of a thousand miles will lead them. A profound, mesmerizing film with stellar performances.
