With a knockout performance by Mouna Hawa (In Between), this 8-episode dramatic series (Muna I and Muna II) focuses on the life of Muna, a 30-something Israeli Arab photographer, who has been invited to display her work in Paris. Although this exhibition is a great honor, she is hounded by both Arab and Jewish critics. Then there’s the complicated relationship she has with Yaniv, her Jewish boyfriend, and her father’s anger at her for not adopting a traditional lifestyle. A bold look at Israeli Arabs that you’ve rarely seen before. (Muna I is Episodes 1-4).

Join us on Sunday, April 11 at 11:00 AM, when film critic Galit Roichman, a graduate of Tel Aviv University’s Film School, will trace the image of Arab Israelis in Israeli films including Arab Labor, The Bubble and Muna.

Underwritten by Fran Greenberg & Don Chaiken, Susan & Moses Libitzky, Efi & Shira Lubliner, Ph.D., and Contra Costa Jewish Community Center.
