GATHER

GATHER is an intimate, uplifting story of American Indian resilience and the renaissance of Native food sovereignty and sustainable systems. Raised on a buffalo ranch in South Dakota, a high school student is using her passion for science to prove the native wisdom of her White River Sioux Nation. A chef in Arizona has embarked on an ambitious project to reclaim ancient food ways and improve health conditions among the White Mountain Apache. In Northern California, a group of hopeful young men is struggling to save the Klamath River habitat of their sacred salmon and keep their Yurok culture alive.

Q&A immediately following screening with director Sanjay Rawal, and Nephi Craig, White Mountain Apache Tribe, and chef/founder of the Native American Culinary Association.

Moderated by DeLanna Studi, Artistic Director, Native Voices at the Autry, The Autry Museum of the American West.
