"It’s been a tough year for our environment. We’ve seen Tassie’s magnificent World Heritage forests threatened with logging, a huge coal port approved on the Great Barrier Reef, and the laws and bodies that protect our climate dismantled one by one.
In these dark times, what is heartening is that we’ve also seen amazing displays of people power. We’ve seen big mining companies kicked out of our rural communities, a crowd-funded Climate Council after the government’s scrapping of the Climate Commission, and social barriers dissolved as people from all walks of life come together to defend our precious environment.
In the current political climate, we know it’s up to us now. That’s why we’ll keep bringing nature to the big screen to facilitate debate, discussion and action on some of the most pressing environmental issues of our time."
