We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands across Victoria and Australia and pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders past and present. We recognise that our festival takes place on stolen lands and that sovereignty has never been ceded. There will be no climate justice without First Nations justice. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.
Welcome to EFFA ‘21, Australia’s premiere (and volunteer run!) environmental film and arts festival. Back online and feeling fine(ish), we’re so excited to present to you this program of exploration, adventure and activism. Journey into the deepest seas, across breathtaking desert plains, up awe-inspiring mountains, and into the lives of those fighting to save our planet. Hello to our pals in Aotearoa/NZ, we are stoked to share our entire programme with you. For those a bit further afield, we do have a selection of films available worldwide (highlighted below). Our carefully curated festival offering invites you to connect with the planet, be inspired to take action and see the truth behind the headlines. We have stellar documentaries, more narrative features than ever before, and shorts aplenty. If more than one film takes your fancy, check out the pass options in the menu above to get yourself a deal (or a nice digital gift, if we say so ourselves). Take a journey with EFFA ’21, we’re very pleased to have you here with us. | Freyja & Charlie, EFFA '21 Co-Directors
