A mixed-media documentary detailing the lives and the short history of a group of self-proclaimed misfits trying to replace the devotion and fellowship they once found in the Mormon Church with weekly karaoke singing. Using interviews, disposable still photos and 16mm and 8mm footage of the members of the BoxCar in Provo, Utah, Empty Orchestra explores what it means to have community and what happens when it is lost.
