A group of friends set out on a 58-mile bikefishing tour with plans to stop at several alpine lakes along the way. But as so often happens with plans, they went awry. The weather had its own ideas, and by the time they reached the trailhead—at around 11,000 feet—the snow showed no signs of letting up. For the most part, bikes and snow don’t mix.

World Champion mountain biker Christopher Blevins introduces a new Fastest Known Time route in the Los Padres National Forest. Through this effort, the film showcases his changing relationship to the land and highlights the environmental and social issues facing the area, including the increasing severity of forest fires, and the harm created by extractive industry. The film seeks to inspire viewers to think more deeply about their relationship to the places they recreate.
