In this short documentary, director Abdolghader Khaledi tracks down a handful of remaining practitioners of the Kurdish balora singing tradition, which employs a unique technique of tapping the throat with the fingers to create vibrato. The often partly improvised songs depict themes ranging from love to satire, and were also used to communicate between remote villages in the mountainous Kurdish region of Iran.
