Virtual Guided Tour

The Architecture of the 30s in Boulogne-Billancourt

Led by L'Echappée Belle

Presented on Thursday, July 8, 2021

In French

Explore some of the Paris region’s most innovative architecture on a virtual tour of Boulogne-Billancourt. Adjacent to Paris on the banks of the Seine, this beautiful city served as a true architectural laboratory in the 1930s.

This virtual tour will crisscross the streets of Boulogne-Billancourt, highlighting varied and even daring buildings by Le Corbusier, Robert Mallet-Stevens, Pierre Patout, Auguste Perret and other important innovators. As you explore the leafy streets of this riverside city, you’ll learn about these architects’ contributions to modernism between the two World Wars.

L’Echappée Belle, a tour guide and cultural mediation company based in Paris, will lead the visit. Attendees will have the chance to improve their vocabulary during this French-language tour with a list of architectural terms that will be provided before the talk.
