Conversation with Marie-France Pochna and Matthew Yokobosky

Presented on Wednesday, January 13, 2022

In English

Christian Dior remains one of the most renowned and influential fashion designers of the 20th century. Join us for an inside look at the visionary couturier by Marie-France Pochna, author of the recently published Christian Dior: Destiny: The Authorized Biography.

This new book uncovers the quieter, more subtle moments of Christian Dior’s life. Pochna looks beyond the glamour of Parisian couture to the challenges faced by a fashion revolutionary.

The Brooklyn Museum is currently celebrating the designer’s vast legacy with the exhibition Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams, curated by Florence Müller, Avenir Foundation Curator of Textile Art and Fashion at Denver Art Museum, in collaboration with Matthew Yokobosky, Senior Curator of Fashion and Material Culture at Brooklyn Museum.

Yokobosky joins Pochna in an intimate conversation about Christian Dior’s place as a great modern artist.
