This work of speculative fiction is set in a dystopian near-future in Rio de Janeiro. When a young lawyer, Antônio, sues for reparations for descendants of African slaves in Brazil, the authoritarian government responds with an executive order that exiles all black citizens to Africa. Antônio, his wife, and his uncle join a defiant underground movement fighting the madness.
