Countryfest Community Cinema is a community owned, non-profit business that was built by people in the Dauphin and Parkland area. The community fully supported the project with over $1 million raised by community residents, organizations and business. The business model for Countryfest Community Cinema is to put profits back into other community projects so all donations will continue to help kick-start other initiatives in the community.
Based on a true story, a fast living, cynical London music executive reluctantly heads to Cornwall on a colleague’s stag weekend where he’s pranked by his boss into trying to sign a group of shanty-singing fishermen. He becomes the ultimate ‘fish out of water’ struggling to gain the respect or enthusiasm of the unlikely boy band who value friendship and community over fame and fortune.
