Two oddball films to tickle your funny bones.

Showcase Runtime : 34 minutes 34 seconds

Klethoven 1974, police detectives Bert and Frank are on a mission to get in time at the border to hand over a mysterious detainee to the German authorities.

Julian Verkerk is a film and theatre maker who graduated from the Minerva Art Academy Groningen in 2020. He works as a freelance director, designer and screenwriter.

All of his work moves at the intersection between film and theatre and is always set in the same fictional world called ‘Klethoven’. A world that he completely designs himself and is often characterised as a surrealist version of 1970s Europe. In this way, each work offers the audience a brief glimpse into an awkward, surreal but also colourful satire on today’s society.
