“My heart races at the thought of calling you, for fear of making you feel shame. Perhaps that’s why I push away from family, to avoid pain... Truth... Bakla…” Brandon, a queer Filipino-American grandson, meditates through his anxiety of having to greet his grandmother Happy Birthday. This narrative drama short is the directorial debut of Brandon English, a Multidisciplinary Artist, located in Los Angeles, CA. Brandon’s accolades include producing the 2019 Hollywood Fringe Festival-award winning comedy "Borracho: Spanish for Drunken Bum", a Broadway World Awards nomination for "Best Featured Actor in a Musical" for his work in “Comfort Women: A New Musical”, and a starring role in the award-winning short film "Consent", directed by Andrew Cervantes and winner of the 2020 Grand Jury Award at Outfest Fusion Film Festival.
