September 2019: a group of Trans*, Intersex and Non-binary people gather in a forest somewhere in France, for the first time. Some live in cities, some in non-urban environments, all search for peaceful places, all fight oppression: geographically, socially, politically.

They meet each other. They relax, little by little. They get comfortable. They have fun.

During short excursions, they share bits of their lives. “Rural Trans” is directed by Amsterdam-based filmmaker, choreographer, and performer Tim Faraus. Tim Faraus lets their subjects roam free within a woodland solitude, and the tranquil, isolated forest backdrops offer a serene setting for the participants to celebrate their non-conforming identities while at times bravely addressing their own individual surviving strategies.
