Lara Dale was born in Santa Fe, NM, and was raised in Corrales and Albuquerque. She trained from early childhood in classical music, as well as theater and ballet at Hayden School.
After answering a random craigslist ad, Lara Dale apprenticed at Wildfire Studio with Academy Award winning Foley Artist Ellen Heuer, of Dirty Dancing and ET fame, and discovered that the precise timing of classical music and the rigorous physicality of ballet and modern dance provided her the perfect foundation for mastering the complex and demanding art of Foley.
