What is the jungle cat doing in Gurugram's farmlands? The elusive small cat that lives in grasslands, shrublands, wetlands, and dense vegetation areas has adapted to surviving in agricultural areas near Gurugram and other parts of India. But in this dynamic landscape, it faces several threats.

The jungle cat is one of India's ten small wild cat species. It is the most common wild cat, widely distributed throughout the Indian subcontinent, but little is known about its ecology, especially in human-dominated agricultural landscapes.

The film brings us close to the wild cat and its changing habitat near India's national capital, New Delhi. Through interviews with local and national small wild cat experts, the film delves into why the cat has been able to adjust to India's farms and the uncertainties the cat faces in the present and the future.

While much funding, research, and conservation focus is on large wild cat species, India's small cats also need attention.

A significant diversity and population of India's wildlife, including several small wild cats, lives beyond national parks and wildlife sanctuaries. The film explores the challenging theme of human-animal coexistence in non-protected areas during rapid land-use change and environmental degradation.
