"The Bodies and Spaces on Screen" workshop led by Amira Louadah will be held virtually via Google Meet & FigJam on May 4th at 12:30 PM EDT / 9:30 AM PDT.

During the first hour, we will brainstorm around the notion of the "body" and review a curated selection of artworks exploring diverse perspectives and interpretations of the human body. Amira will also share her film "The Ark," which was awarded the Renaud Victor Prize at Fid Marseille and selected for international competition at the Camden Film Festival, RIDM, and Clermont Ferrand Short Film Festival, among others. The idea is to move beyond preconceptions about the body and open up a new perspective.

In the next hour, you will have the opportunity to engage in an exciting and experimental photography session. This workshop will focus on your own body and, more specifically, the language it can create within space. By collaboratively establishing constraints, you will be encouraged to push your creative boundaries. We will review the images produced together at each step, without judgment, but by establishing a common vocabulary around image qualities and sensations.

In addition to the Google Meet link, you will be asked in advance to create a free account on FigJam to collaborate directly on a platform for uploading your images, commenting with post-its, ensuring a highly interactive experience among all participants, and facilitating connections and networking during the workshop.

Objectives :

• Renew one's perspective on one's own body.

• Consider the various present points of view.

• Observe sensations as images appear: softness, wear, brightness...

• Welcome observations, postponing the moment of judgment.

• By sharing sensations, establish a common language.

• Identify what triggers these sensations: frame, composition, light...

• Become aware of the imaginaries made possible through constraints.

• Refine observation, up to the level of rigor and critical thinking, paying attention to the environment, light, and individuals, down to gestures.

• Put in motion and in perspective the perceptions and representations of the group.

Conditions of work and materials:

• Good WiFi

• Punctuality for a collective start

• Mobile phones or camera

• Airdrop or usb to connect mobile device to laptop

• Daylight preferred

• Sign up for a free FigJam account and connect using the link sent beforehand
