James “JV” Hart started working in film as a producer in the 70s, and has been a working screenwriter for over 50 years. We'll chat about the lessons learned while working with Steven Spielberg on Hook, Francis Ford Coppola on Dracula, Carl Sagan on Contact, and Brian Henson on Muppet Treasure Island and Jack and the Beanstalk. We'll discuss different writers credits and what they mean, adaptations and the importance of collaboration, and his proven process for creating character driven stories. This wonderful conversation is full of entertaining stories that showcase lessons in screenwriting.

Hart, also known as J.V., is a film writer and producer, best known for his work on movies like "Hook," "Bram Stoker's Dracula," and "Muppet Treasure Island". He also wrote and produced "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein," "Sahara," "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life," and "August Rush". Additionally, he created and developed the TV series "Crossbones" and "The Hot Zone".
