Osas Egbon, 38 years old, is the president of the first Italian association against forced prostitution, entirely composed of Nigerian women who are all former victims of human trafficking.

They are the “Benin City Women”, because of the name of the city where they all come from: Nigeria’s capital, that Osas left in 2002 e that is the home of 80% of the women who are victims of sexual human trafficking.

For young Nigerian women looking to be freed from the prostitution slavery, Osas is their guiding star. Not only because they speak the same language, but also because she has experienced herself what violence and prostitution mean. She was a victim of human trafficking as well, before breaking free in 2004 and building a life for herself.

In a direct interview, she recounts us how she managed to rebel. A story that starts in the present and proceeds to the past, to the roots of her courage, to her innermost and deepest motivations that make her a heroine pervaded by a precise need of justice and legality. Before being a leader, Osas is a mother first.
