《Overview》

This film was conceived and produced by Misaki Mizumura, an actor. With a desire to create a film that could encourage women to pursue their dreams, the theme revolves around the challenges of balancing motherhood and dreams, and depicts the struggles of women who continue to chase their dreams while discovering hope without giving up. Yukiko's character serves as a representative, showcasing the difficulty of letting go of dreams even after becoming a mother, despite the lack of understanding from her unsupportive husband and mother-in-law. What is it that gave Yukiko hope?

《Synopsis》

Yukiko, the protagonist, balances her role as a mother with her unyielding dream of becoming an actress. However, she struggles to stand up against her unsupportive husband and mother-in-law who dismiss her dreams. Is it forbidden for a mother to have dreams? What is it that saves Yukiko from this predicament?

子どもの頃から芝居を続けてきた主人公・由紀子(30) は、4 歳の愛娘・愛奈を抱えながらも夢を諦めずにいる。

ある時、由紀子に大きなチャンスが舞い込んでくる。だが、“女優”という仕事に理解のない夫・裕典に「もう夢見てる歳じゃない」「そういうのはずっとやることじゃない」 等と言われ、愛奈を抱いて家を飛び出す由紀子。

子どもをもつ母親は夢を持ってはいけないのだろうか。そんな由紀子を救ってくれたものは・・・？

原案・企画・プロデュース・主演を俳優、水村美咲が手掛けた作品。監督は、水村美咲自身が信頼と尊敬、憧れを持っていた松本動監督に直談判をして引き受けて貰う。2022年1月『水村美咲映画製作委員会』立ち上げから約一年で短編『在りのままで咲け』、そしてその姉妹作となる長編『在りのままで進め』の二作品を完成させた。
