Shuji was born on Etajima, an island in the Seto Inland Sea in the western part of Hiroshima Prefecture, and has never left the island. He has always felt responsible for his father's sudden death in the family farm, and has spent his days living at home with his mother, feeling depressed. One day, he learns on TV that his childhood friend Kazuya, who is working as a film director in Tokyo, is making a film set in his hometown of Etajima.

Meanwhile, Yukie, whom they had liked in high school, is having an affair with a man who has a wife and child.

Amidst the three people's mixed feelings, the shooting of the movie Kazuya is directing begins.

広島県の西部、瀬戸内海島嶼部に位置する江田島で生まれ、島から出ず生きてきた修司は、家の畑で父親が突然 死した事にずっと責任を感じ、母と実家暮らしで、うだつの上がらない日々を送っていた。そんなある日、東京で映画監督として活躍している幼馴染の和也が、故郷の江田島を舞台に映画を撮る事をテレビで知る。

そんな頃、高校時代に二人が好きだった幸恵は、妻子ある男と不倫関係にあった。

3人の思いが交錯する中、和也が監督する映画の撮影が始まる。
