Nanni and Franco, two brothers, are talking at the edge of a cliff. Franco is an outsider, and never follows any rules. To prove his maverick personality to his big brother, he threatens to jump off the cliff. Nanni stands still but Franco actually jumps, dying in front of his brother’s eyes, leaving him with a big sense of guilt. Twenty years later Nanni becomes a swimming instructor, always bringing a bowl with a goldfish along with him. Among all his students Carlotta stands out. She’s an ex-gymnast who ended up in a wheelchair after a motor bike accident.
