In a mountain village, Leucio, a young farmer who is deaf due to an accident, he lives in solitude dedicating himself to work in the fields. One day, while carrying some wood, he passes in front of the stable of a little donkey, Lucia, and inexplicably manages to hear something her bray is clear. Astonished, he ignores the event but, that same evening, he hears braying again and he runs to the donkey to feed her. Thus was born a singular friendship that manages to scratch the loneliness suffered by both protagonists, and which finds its peak when the donkey and Leucio manage to communicate, breaking down any language barrier.
