A surreal tragicomedy about love and euthanasia. Gilda is terminally ill and wants to die without pain while she’s still herself. She pays to join the underground organization “Joy Transition International” that claims to teach the terminally ill how to kill themselves painlessly while euthanasia is illegal. There she meets the much younger Amadeu, an introverted undertaker, also terminally ill, and they go through the “euthanasia workshops” that turn out to be an absurd and expensive scam. Running out of patience and money, Gilda takes matters into her own hands, and in the darkly comical and poignant adventure that follows, Gilda and Amadeu embark on their best and last journey, to try and die on their own terms.
