Synopsis : La vie toute tracée de Thelma prend un détour tragique lorsqu'un accident plonge son fils Louis, 12 ans, dans le coma. Déterminée à le réveiller par tous les moyens, elle va faire le pari fou d'accomplir une par une les « 10 choses à faire avant la fin du monde » qu'il avait inscrites dans son journal intime, pour lui montrer tout ce que la vie a de magnifique à lui offrir. Mais ce voyage dans les rêves de son adolescent l'emmènera bien plus loin que ce qu'elle imaginait... jusqu'à raviver son propre goût à la vie.
Synopsis : The Book of Wonders- Thelma is devastated when Louis, her 12 years-old son, falls into a deep coma after an accident. When she discovers his “end-of-the-world bucket list” she realizes how adventurous and creative Louis is. With the hope of bringing her son back, she decides to fulfill herself all of his wishes…From Japan to Portugal, Thelma embarks on an adventure which gives her new reasons to live for, to reconnect with her son…and herself.
This is the crazy bet of a mother ready to do anything to help her son wake up from his coma. After Louis' accident, Thelma decides to do for him the "10 things to do before the end of the world" that he had written in his diary. By listening to these adventures, Louis will see how beautiful life is and that he must come back. By fulfilling a teenager's dreams at the age of forty, Thelma will experience an incredible journey that will take her farther than she ever imagined.

« Il y a des films qu’on admire parce qu’ils renouvellent le langage cinématographique avec génie. Et il y en a d’autres qui, sans révolutionner le 7e art, trouvent une place dans notre cœur. La chambre des merveilles fait partie de cette dernière catégorie. Lisa Azuelos signe un long métrage bouleversant d’humanité. Une fable moderne avec une héroïne à la « vie sinueuse, remplie d’échecs et de cicatrices ».
La réalisatrice Lisa Azuelos signe une ode à la bienveillance, un conte moderne sur la résilience. Adapté du roman du même nom de Julien Sandrel, le film est réalisé de manière assez classique, voire un peu convenue, mais avec une belle sensibilité. Dans le rôle de cette mère courageuse, entêtée et attachante, Alexandra Lamy est parfaite ! »
