Echoes of Saudade
In the heart of Alfama, Lisbon’s oldest district, a small taverna clings to its soul as one of the last bastions of Stray Fado — a tradition where the voices of everyday people sing their hearts out and transform all their pain into something timeless and beautiful. Here, in this narrow, timeworn space, the bittersweet essence of saudade unfolds: the ache for what is lost, the longing for what will never return. In a district reshaped by relentless tourism, ECHOES OF SAUDADE honors a vanishing way of life. In the middle of all that is Isabel, the iconic owner of the taverna.
The Believers
A tiger stalks his dreams... A woman seeks belonging... A man finds courage under the magical spell of his tattoos... Each year in Thailand, the believers of an ancient ritual offering supernatural powers gather for a sacred day-- where unseen forces stir, and spiritual possession erupts.
Tippi & Barb
In the heart of Arkansas, where tradition runs deep, Tippi, a beloved teacher, and Barb, a prosecuting attorney, build a life together rooted in love and community. But after 13 years of devotion, their quiet happiness shatters with a single phone call on their wedding day—one that costs Tippi her career and exposes the harsh reality of workplace discrimination. As they refuse to be silent, their deeply personal fight for justice ignites a movement, transforming them into champions for LGBTQIA+ rights across the nation and thrusts Tippi into an unexpected political career. Tippi and Barb is a story of resilience, love, and the courage to stand against injustice, proving that even the smallest voices can spark lasting change.
Under Land
Clara and Amantina have been neighbors for more than fifty years. Their houses are joined and separated by a wall whose ownership is the subject of a historic dispute. They accuse each other of witchcraft and each believes that the other is responsible for the misfortunes of death, disease and misery that their families have suffered for decades. The version of each witch is like an exact copy of the other and through their life stories they seem to need each other to exist. Clara laughs at Amantina's death, but her laughter is cut short by her own death. They die almost at the exact same time during this investigation, and find peace together in the cemetery.
