Lin (41) is preparing her solo song performance for the Chinese New Year celebration at her church. She hopes to impress her community, but according to her mentor her performance isn’t connecting yet as she seems to be hiding herself. However when rumors start circulating about her son, who has not been to church for some time now, Lin is faced with a difficult choice; will she continue to hide her true self or choose to be open?

The Performance

House of Tulip follows two Black trans activists as they run for office and work to build Louisiana’s first housing refuge that provides residency for trans and gender non-conforming residents. We’ll follow the founders as they fight to use their organization to protect and build community in a state with one of the highest gun-related murder rates in the country. Their journeys will highlight the dangerous yet beautiful reality of what it means to be Black trans women in the deep South.

House of Tulip

Noah and Jonah are gay Jewish husbands and new parents to a baby boy. When Noah and Jonah's parents arrive at their home expecting a traditional bris for their grandson, Noah and Jonah are forced to reveal that they had something very different in mind for their son: no circumcision.

The Eighth Day

A century apart, two drag icons unite through art, resilience, and a shared legacy of self-expression and freedom. Leading the cast is Cynthia Lee Fontaine of RuPaul's Drag Race.
