This special free online screening is presented by the French Embassy and the Alliance française network in Ireland in resonance with the upcoming Africa 2020 Season in France, an initiative inviting the public to observe and understand the world from an African perspective.


This award winning film tells the story of four women from different regions who develop friendships during a bus journey across West Africa, as they accomplish an everyday journey while facing the universal challenge of being independent women.


Synopsis

Adjara, Emma and Sali are going to Lagos, Nigeria on a bus passing by Bamako, Cotonou and Ouagadougou. Their trip is a crusade through a minefield of hazards, break down of buses, muggers at illegal road blocks, scenes of thefts among passengers. But the worst is crossing borders and having to face corruption, abuse of women and trafficking. In order to cope they have to stick together and take care of one another.
